The individual in this position is directly accountable to Associate Director and responsible for reception for all programs at 1671 The Alameda site and administrative support for Counseling, Grief Counseling, CISM, interns, and Youth & Family Mental Health Services.

The Therapist and clinical supervisor has the responsibility of determining the clinical needs of clients and those of their interns and directing services to meet client needs. Population served includes children ages 2-17 years old who have experienced trauma and victimization. Victimization may include bullying by peers, assault, hit & run or DUI victim, physical abuse, sexual abuse, family violence, neglect, mass violence event survivor, or other qualifying experiences.

The RELIEF Call Specialist will support the Contact Cares/Centralized Intake program by filling in shifts that need to be covered. The RELIEF Call Specialist will perform basic administrative duties, take calls when no volunteer is available and provide Centralized Intake services.

The Drop In Center (DIC) Program Supervisor manages the day-to-day operations of the program, establishing a supportive and welcoming atmosphere for homeless street youth receiving services by performing the following duties and responsibilities within the Vision, Mission and Guiding Principles of BWC:

Under the supervision and direction of the Program Manager of the Drop In Center, the Outreach Case Manager conducts street outreach to areas frequented by street youth and performs case management for clients.

The Education Specialist will be responsible for working directly with clients on their education plans.

The Residential Counselor cares for and supervises youth housed by performing the following essential duties and responsibilities during the overnight shift.

Case Managers provide direct client care and services that support youth and young adults in attaining self-sufficiency and independent living skills towards their success at obtaining and maintaining housing, employment, educational, well-being and healthy relationships.

The Program Supervisor supervises staff working in the BWC Young Adult Shelter for youth age 18-25 as well as the Interim Housing Program for youth age 18-25. This program oversees a shelter for young adults preparing for permanent housing. This position requires collaboration with other BWC programs to ensure youth receive full scope services including employment, education, housing, mental health services and independent living skills.

The Case Manager I for THP+ provides intensive case management services for emancipated former foster youth ages 18-25. Services provided center primarily around strengthening independent living skills and housing permanency along with career and education development.

Case Managers provide case management and supportive services for the Family Advocacy Service (FAS) program which provides homeless prevention and intervention services for youth and families at identified schools in Central Santa Clara County.

The Case Manager will provide case management and supportive services for the Rapid Rehousing program which secures stable housing for homeless youth and families.

Under the direction of the Program Manager and working closely with program staff, the Case Manager provides case management services for young adults ages 18-25 centered primarily around strengthening independent living skills and housing permanency along with career and education development.

Under the supervision and direction of the Program Supervisor, the Outreach Specialist team (2) will identify, assess and refer homeless individuals in Santa Clara County to appropriate housing programs and services. The team will address a person’s mental health, substance use disorder and/or medical needs by building trust with the individual or family and identify opportunities through which services can be provided. The team’s responsibility is to build some level of rapport with the individuals over a period of time, help the individuals seek services that, at a minimum, would address their basic needs.

The Residential Counselor cares for and supervises young adults housed during the shift.

Under the supervision of the Program Manager, the RELIEF Residential Counselor performs the following duties and responsibilities for the program when covering for open shifts. The RELIEF Residential Counselor is not a full time position, but provides relief/coverage for open shifts at the DIC Respite, Interim Housing and Young Adult Shelter programs (overnight and swing) – hours, if any, are based on availability of open shifts.

The RELIEF Residential Counselor pool provides coverage for swing and overnight shift openings in Bill Wilson Center’s Interim Housing, Homeless Respite and Young Adult Shelter programs (all located in/near downtown San Jose). The RELIEF Residential Counselor is not a full time position, but provides relief/coverage for open shifts – hours, if any, are based on availability of open shifts. Swing shift and awake overnight work is required and looking for candidates available between 5 p.m. and 9 a.m.

As part of the leadership of Bill Wilson Center, the Mental Health Program Manager is a supportive resource to the clinical and paraprofessional staff on your team. In this leadership role, you will provide administrative and financial oversight to a portfolio of programs providing Mental Health Services to Medi-Cal and uninsured beneficiaries. As a leader in Bill Wilson Center’s mental health programs, you will have the opportunity to shape program and services offered to our clients as well as develop, coach, and mentor clinical services staff in their professional journey. The Program Manager collaborates closely with Division leadership and County and community partners to ensure the provision of culturally appropriate, outcomes-driven, and trauma-informed services to the clients and families we serve.

As a Bill Wilson Center Masters or Licensed Clinician, you will provide culturally appropriate, accessible, and supportive Mental Health services to Medi-Cal and uninsured beneficiaries. Your experience in providing assessment, treatment planning, individual and family therapy, and clinical case management will be leveraged to support clients as a member of a collective team. You will be serving a wide variety of individuals and families with 1:1 supervision and support from administrative and clinical supervisors. Our services are provided in settings that are flexible and best meet client needs including telehealth, in the office, client’s home, in the community, or school-based services.

Under the direction of the Lead Clinician, the Client Support Specialist will be primarily responsible to assist with linkage to resources and mental health services, and prevention outreach in both group and individual settings to youth and young adults aged 16-30. The Client Support Specialist will also provide direct service provision to assigned youth to support independent living skills, and referrals/ linkage to basic needs and resources in collaboration with Clinicians.

The Case Manager will provide direct care, clinical guidance and oversight, community planning and mobilization and mental health prevention efforts for adult consumers in the IHOT (In-Home Outreach Team) program. The goal of the IHOT program is to engage and link consumers with mental health needs to appropriate levels of care to increase stabilization and functioning.

The Client Support Specialist works as a member on our In-Home Support Team to provide engagement and support to adults with mental health challenges. The Client Support Specialist will provide case management, service linkage, outreach and engagement, peer support and other services to consumers of the IHOT program.

As a Mental Health Specialist with our Family & Children’s Outpatient program, you will provide youth, young adults, and families with behavioral health services to improve client’s emotional wellbeing and life domain functioning. Services provided may include individual and group rehabilitation counseling, skill development, assessment and treatment planning under the supervision of a licensed therapist.

The Case Manager for THPP (Transitional Housing Placement Program) works directly with foster care youth (16 yrs-18 yrs) and foster care young parents to support them in all life domains that prepare them for independence and self-sufficiency. The Case Manager has a small caseload of up to 12 youth who are living in residential homes throughout Santa Clara County, attending school and/or employment learning life skills of shopping, meal preparation, maintaining a home, sharing space with other while focusing on higher education, careers, well-being, making permanent connections with caring adults, managing their health and dental care, and for some, parenting skills.

Facilitates family reunification or alternate placement for at risk youth and their families through crisis intervention, family counseling, stabilization, parenting skills, case management and providing community linkages and resources through a strength based approach utilizing evidence based practices.

The Residential Counselor creates a safe and supportive environment for youth, ages 11-17 who are in need of immediate shelter or crisis stabilization due to homelessness, runaway, family conflict, school problems, trauma or encounter with law enforcement, juvenile probation or child protective services. The Residential counselor is the primary care provider offering empathy, listening skills, mentor-ship and coaching that empowers youth to heal and find healthy solutions and problem solving skills as part of their developmental stage towards self-sufficiency. Weekend and holiday coverage required.

Bill Wilson Center is proud to partner with the County Probation Department in supporting the PIVOT (Providing Individual Valuable Opportunities Together) program to provide services for young adults coming out of detention facilities who are working hard to achieve stability and self-sufficiency.

Thur, Fri 11:00 pm – 7:30 am and Tue, Wed 6:00 pm – 11:00 pm (26 hrs/wk – part time)
Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday 6:00 pm – 11:00 pm (25 hrs/wk – Part Time)

RELIEF Residential Counselors provide part time or emergency coverage in Safety Net Shelter or THPP/THP+ FC gaining experience working with youth, 11-21 yrs of age who are healing from trauma, dealing with lift stressors and working towards independent living by providing supervision, mentorship, redirection and listening skills that empower youth to heal and make healthy life choices.
